On the road or at home, Sequim High School’s basketball squads are tough to beat.

Sequim’s boys got 23 points from Corbin Webb and 20 from Nick Camporini in a 77-66 win at home against the Bremerton Knights on Dec. 13.

 “It came on the defensive end first,” Camporini said, a few minutes after seeing his team improve to 3-1 in Olympic League play and 5-1 overall.

“We really got into them (on defense) and got what we wanted on offense.”

Gabe Carter, a sophomore, added 13 points and 16 rebounds.

“Their youth just doesn’t come out in their play,” Sequim coach Greg Glasser said of his Wolves.

The Sequim girls made it a sweep in Bremerton the same night, pulling out a 41-37 win against the host Knights.

Lea Hopson led the squad with 21 points and four steals. Haleigh Harrison added five blocks and Rylleigh Zbaraschuk snagged six steals.

Sequim’s girls are also 3-1 in league play and are 4-1 overall.

The teams were slated to play an Australian travel team on Dec. 14. Sequim plays Klahowya tonight, Dec. 15 (girls home, boys away) and North Kitsap on Dec. 17 (boys home, girls away).
