The Wapiti Bowmen Archery Club, a family oriented club dedicated to the promotion of the sport of archery since 1964, will be hosting the annual Spring 3-D Archery Shoot, March 5-6 at the club, 374 E. Arnette Road Port Angeles.
The range opens at 8 a.m. and final registration is 2 p.m. Camping is available on site.
The tournament course consists of 28 safari targets and 22 full-size 3-D animals (such as elk, deer, and even a dinosaur) set at marked distances along a trail meandering through the range’s 20 wooded acres.
Adult fees are $12 for one day, $20 for both. Breakfast is served for a fee. Awards will be given for all age groups from youth to seniors.
The group will also be conducting a raffle for a Rinehart 18-to-1 archery target, valued at $109; tickets will cost $5 each, with all proceeds going to the Wapiti Bowmen Archery club, earmarked to purchase additional 3-D targets.
Members of the Wapiti Bowmen have year-round access to the 28 field targets at ranges from 35 feet to 80 yards with uphill, downhill and level shooting conditions. Also available is a heated 20-yard indoor range and clubhouse and an outdoor practice range with ranges from 10-70 yards.
The group’s goal is to provide a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for all archers regardless of age, equipment or skill level.
The Wapiti Bowmen Archery Club is chartered with the National Field Archery Association and the Washington State Field Archery Association.
