Mat Rats, a wrestling program for youths ages 5-12, begins in early March.

 

Mat Rats meets 5-6:30 p.m. each Tuesday and Wednesday through March (March 6-7, 13-14, 20-21 and 27-28).

 

Location is the Sequim Community School gymnasium, 220 W. Alder St.

 

Participants are asked to wear wrestling shoes or socks, shorts and a T-shirt.

 

The camp features instruction by a staff member of Sequim Middle School and Sequim High School wrestlers.

 

The focus is on the basic fundamentals of wrestling and includes skill development games.

 

Cost is $35 per athlete; fee pays for camp instruction, a T-shirt and tournament.

 

Register by paying at the door. Checks should be payable to Sequim High School.
