It took the Olympic League nearly a season-and-a-half, but someone finally knocked off the Sequim Wolves’ fastpitch squad.

North Kitsap topped the Wolves 10-4 in Sequim on Monday afternoon, ending Sequim’s 34-game winning streak dating back to 2010.

“We just didn’t hit when we should have,” Sequim coach Mike McFarlen said following the loss. “We couldn’t string anything together. It’s an eye-opener for us.”

Rylleigh Zbaraschuk was 2-for-2 with three steals while Demiree Briones and Alexas Besand had RBIs.

It’s the first league loss for Sequim since April 12, 2010.

Sequim (6-1) remains atop the Olympic League standings, tied with Port Angeles.
