Sequim’s Wolves had trouble with just one team in the Olympic League this season — Kingston — but managed to beat all others, including rival Port Angeles.

The Wolves capped their season with a 7-1 record in league play and 10-2 overall last week, sweeping aside the Roughriders in a pair of 4-3 cliffhangers on April 23 and knocking off North Mason 6-1 on April 25.

 

Against Port Angeles, Sequim won two singles matches and two doubles to win the official league match.

Hillary Smith and Hannah Gauthun won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, while Katrina Chan and Stacy Hanson improved to 7-1 on the season as they look for a return trip to the class 2A state tourney.

Sequim then topped the Riders in a non-league match the same day, getting singles wins from Chan, Hanson and Gauthun, and another win in No. 4 doubles play from Norman and Stallman.

 

Against North Mason two days later, Chan and Hanson won again in singles, while Jessica Defilipo and Elizabeth Shore improved to 7-3 as a doubles duo with a win. Calli Norman and Heidi Stallman won as well, improving their record in No. 4 doubles to 6-0 on the season.

The Olympic League tournament is slated for May 3-5 in Poulsbo.
