Just four games into the 2012 season, Sequim already has more wins against Olympic League opponents (two) than it had all last season.

On Sept. 13, the Wolves earned their second win of the season, outlasting the visiting Port Townsend Redskins in a 5-3 slugfest.

McKenzie Bentz had two scores while Shelby Lott, Vianey Cadenas and Leslie Cisneros added one goal apiece in a game that saw the Wolves pull ahead by a score three times before the Redskins tied it up.

Sequim goalkeeper Torrie McIntyre was injured in the win, Sequim co-head coach Julie Lancheros said, with a concussion after getting a cleat to her head.

Besides a non-league blowout against Forks, Sequim scored just seven goals last season; through four games this fall, the Wolves have eight.

On Sept. 15, Sequim fell in a 7-0, non-league loss at class 3A Bonney Lake that saw five Wolves get injured, Lancheros said. Sequim's backup goalkeeper was issues a red card for colliding with a Bonney Lake player, Lancheros said, and the Wolves played 70 percent of the game one player down.

The Wolves didn't add to its win total on Tuesday, Sept. 18, but did come away with a 1-1 tie at Bremerton. 

The Wolves host cross-peninsula rival Port Angeles at noon on Saturday, Sept. 22, and Kingston on Sept. 25.
