Photo by Michael Dashiell Sequim March 19, 2008 For six innings, everything looked right for the Sequim Wolves. Then it all came apart. Olympic took advantage of four Sequim errors and racked up six runs all in the sixth inning including a three-run triple to turn a 5-2 Sequim lead into an 8-5 Trojan victory. Madison Zbaraschuk had two hits and drove in three runs while Hailey McHugh drive in the other two but it wasnt enough in Sequims first loss of the season. Carly Swingle (2-1) took the loss on the mound. Rachel Haas earned the win for the Trojans. On Monday afternoon, the Wolves crushed Peninsula pitching for six runs in the second inning and six runs in the fourth as they pummeled the Seahawks from Gig Harbor 13-2 on March 17. Beverly Buck was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Swingle drove in three runs in the Olympic League opener. Swingle was tough on the mound, giving up just four hits and two walks in five innings. She struck out five Seahawk batters. Freshmen Zbaraschuk and Lea Hopson each drove in runs while Lisa Miller had a double and Chelsea Winfield added a single to help spur the offense. Richelle White led the Seahwks with three hits. |
