Highlights for team events included the Canadian Flag squad of Adolphsen, Wilson, Tori Cantelow and Jess Holmberg beating their own district record and edging their teammates Ady Crosby, Ashley Priddy, Rebecca Dunne and Mishel Arthur who came in second. Taking first in the In-Hand Obstacle Relay event was Cantelow, Birdsall, Cody Chase and Shannon Robbins, while Sequims second team of Gallo, Wilson, Sophia Carter and Clara Duncan took third. In individual events, Sequim racked up more impressive finishes as Holmberg set a district record in barrels and Crosby set the standard in steer daubing. Crosby had another district record in the Figure Eight, only to have that topped by Wilson by a mere one-hundredth of a second shortly thereafter. Also earning first-place finishes were Chase in Cart Driving and In-Hand Trail, Crosby in Steer Daubing, Holmberg in Breakaway Roping and Connor Ackley in Working Rancher. Adolphsen finished second in Breakaway Roping while Gallo was runner-up in Reigning. Crosby led a procession of seniors by carrying the team flag. The Sequim riders parents were introduced and each seniors team experiences and future plans were read to the audience. Team captains included: Dunne, Carter, Duncan and Robbins. Sequims equestrians now move on to the state competition, set for May 15-18 in Wenatchee.
