Photo courtesy of Caleb Gentry Sequim Gazette staff Sequim Middle School’s Alex Barry, top, and Dylan Chatters take first and second place at the Timberwolves’ first cross country meet of the season, held Sept. 30 at Blue Heron Middle School in Port Townsend. Barry finished the 1.5-mile course in 8:36 while Chatters clocked in at 8:46. Teammate Matthew Brown took fourth (8:49) and Mike Cobb was 12th overall (10:13). Stevens Middle School of Port Angeles won the boys division with 36 team points (low score wins). Sequim was second with 49 points and Blue Heron was third (67). Sequim’s top female runner was Angela Bentley, who took 14th overall at 11 minutes, 58 seconds. |
