Twice a year, Nash's Organic Produce hosts a party to celebrate food and farming.

On Saturday, May 1, at Nash's packing shed, 1865 E. Anderson Road in Sequim, it's a barn dance featuring local country blues musician Cort Armstrong.

He is reuniting for the performance with Jangle Bones, an American roots dance band from Seattle. Jangle Bones played the barn dance several years ago before disbanding in 2008.

Armstrong said they worked the crowd into a dancing frenzy and many fans craved to hear the group's irresistible energy again.

In January, Armstrong released "Chicken Pickin'," a solo CD of original songs that was recorded at Nash's Corner in Dungeness.

Armstrong also has been playing with Seattle trio Armstrong Lawton Katz. It features Armstrong and former Jangle Bones' band mate Ethan Lawton, backed by Seattle upright bass player Nancy Katz.

The event starts at 6 p.m. with a community potluck followed by Armstrong and Jangle Bones at 7:30 p.m. Admission costs $7 at the door for adults and free for children. For more information, call 681-7458 or visit www.nashsorganicproduce.com or www.cortarmstrong music.com.
