Whether new to the area or to fly-fishing, joining a club is a good way to learn what works and where to go as well as meeting others who share your passion.

And passion it is for most fly-fishers.

At the Wednesday, April 14, Greywolf Fly Fishers meeting, a roomful of men and women watched and listened as Skip Morris, a well-known fisherman, author and fly-tier from Port Ludlow, shared how to tie some of his most productive patterns and a slide show of techniques, illustrated by his wife, for fishing deep in lakes.

The program began promptly at 7 p.m. and was followed by the club's business meeting. Meetings are the second Wednesday most months at the Gardiner Community Center, 980 Old Gardiner Road. Some meetings are replaced by outings. Call 797-8235 or see the calendar on Web site www.greywolf-ffc.com/ to confirm.
