Dona Cloud, research librarian for the Clallam County Historical Society, will present an oral history workshop from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at The Museum at the Carnegie, 207 S. Lincoln St., Port Angeles.

Recorded oral histories provide personal views and insights into the past. They are a wonderful way to capture and share the speaker’s remembrances of times gone by.

The morning session will cover the “who, what, where, when and why” of conducting and transcribing oral histories and the equipment used to make the recordings. The afternoon session will feature the making of an oral history as Cloud interviews Gary Braun about his years with the Port Angeles Fire Department.

The cost of the workshop is $10 for members of the Clallam County Historical Society and $12 for nonmembers. Preregistration is required. A lunch break will be provided, but participants must bring their own food.
