The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley invites entries for “A Tribute to Blooms: A Show Celebrating Flowers,” a featured art exhibit running July 1-30 at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St., Sequim.

Qualifying art must reflect the artist’s representation of flowers and preference will be given to work not previously shown at the MAC.

All media are accepted, including oil, acrylic and watercolor painting, pencil, pen and ink, pastel, collage, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, fine arts textiles and photography.

Entry forms are available on the MAC website at www.macsequim.org and at the MAC Exhibit Center. Entry fee for up to three pieces is $10 for MAC members, $15 for nonmembers.

Artwork will be accepted at the MAC Exhibit Center from noon-2 p.m. Sunday, June 26, and from 9 a.m.-noon on Monday, June 27. Direct inquiries to MAC art exhibit committee chairman Linda Stadtmiller at artexhibits@macsequim.org.

Swap meets all set

The MAC invites community members to sell unwanted wares at neighborhood swap meets on the first Saturdays of June, July and August.

Swap meets take place from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays, June 4, July 2 and Aug. 6, in the field in front of the MAC’s DeWitt Administration Center, 544 N. Sequim Ave. in Sequim.

A 10-foot by 10-foot space is $20 per swap meet. Vendors may display items on tables, blankets or out of vehicles. Equipment will not be provided.

Vendors can sign up and pay for a space in advance at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St., or by calling 683-8110. Spaces may be available on the sale day, but there is no guarantee.

Northwest Native-Style art show postponed

The Northwest Native-Style Juried Art Show, originally scheduled as the Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley’s featured art exhibit for July, has been postponed. The show has been tentatively rescheduled for the 2013 season. All artists who submitted will be notified and information about the rescheduled show will be announced.

“The response was not what we expected and we feel that with better planning we will be able to put together a show that would do justice to the pieces that artists have entered,” said MAC art exhibit committee chairman Linda Stadtmiller. “We look forward to having the show in 2013.”
