Two exhibits end this weekend at the Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley. “Cruisin’ the Washington Fossil Freeway,” a traveling exhibit from Seattle’s Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, ends its 10-week run at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim, on Saturday, Dec. 22. That day also marks the final showing of the 4th annual Sequim Arts Small Works Show & Sale.
The Burke Museum’s traveling history exhibit, which tells the tale of prehistoric life and death in Washington, features several real fossil specimens and panels of whimsical, fossil-inspired artwork by Ray Troll. The exhibit is augmented by nearly two dozen fossils from the MAC collection.
The 4th Annual Sequim Arts Small Works Show & Sale features artwork sized 8 inches by 10 inches or smaller and all are for sale as a joint fundraiser for the MAC and Sequim Arts. The Exhibit Center is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, but will be closed Dec. 25-Jan. 1 for the holidays. For more information, call 683-8110.
