Anthropologist Julia Harrison presents “A World of Sweets in Washington State,” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

From marzipan to mochi, the diverse range of sweets tells a story: Ingredients illustrate trade routes and trends, recipes record migration patterns, and special forms point to special occasions. Harrison invites the audience to savor the ways in which sweets show how individuals and communities celebrate, adapt and interact.

The free event requires no preregistration. For details, call 683-1161.
