Honor flights to memorials
World War II Honor Flights transport America’s veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.
Top priority is given to America’s most senior heroes — survivors of World War II and any veteran with a terminal illness. The trip takes three days and is free for the veteran. For more information, go to www.honorflight.org.
For our area, a regional hub is Inland Northwest Honor Flight that can be reached at 509-624-0222 or www.inwhonorflight.org.
If you would like to support this effort, please contribute online at either of these sites or at any US Bank branch.

Stockings booth
Operation Holiday Stockings will have a booth at the Sept. 22 Open Aire Market and would love to have folks come by to write a note to put inside a stocking. Any donations will be very much appreciated.
They are suggesting a $1 donation to help with the postage. Many thanks to the ladies of Stitch ‘n Bitch, the Lake Guntersville Homemakers and Ruth Stockdill for knitting stockings.
We need about 2,000, so if you are a knitter, please go to the website, www.operationholidaystockings.com and get the pattern — click on Make Stockings. E-mail ramsddj@aol.com if you have questions.
