Robert Leroy Clark saw his two and a half year case dismissed by the Clallam County Supreme Court last week, only to be taken up again by the federal court system.

Clark, 67, of Sequim, was charged with third-degree rape of a child, third-degree child molestation and five counts of unlawful possession of a firearm. He pleaded not guilty on Oct. 14, 2005.

According to charging documents, Clark allegedly began molesting the girl in 1993 when she was 9 years old. Within several months of moving in with the girl's mother, he allegedly began massaging the girl, eventually touching her breasts and genitals.

The massages continued several times a week until the girl was 13 and had minor surgery that Clark allegedly used as an excuse to have intercourse with her, according to court documents.

The rape and child molestation charges were for alleged sexual intercourse and touching between 1998 and 2000. The girl told investigators that Clark had sexual intercourse with her three times a week until she moved out of the house at age 19. She reportedly asked him to stop on many occasions but he allegedly refused.

According to court documents the girl said she was afraid of Clark and afraid that he would harm her mother if she didn't cooperate.

She alleged that he frequently would threaten intercourse while driving her home and do his "evil laugh," according to court documents.

Clark is a convicted felon and is not allowed to have firearms, according to court documents. He allegedly was in possession of a Remington 22 rifle, a Winchester 30-30 rifle, and two 8 mm Mausers, according to charging documents.
