Susan Huxtable - Huxtable, 33, of Port Angeles, was charged Sept. 23 with possession of a controlled substance other than marijuana and theft in the third degree. On Aug. 22, Sequim Police responded to the 500 block of West Fir Street because a business owner requested an officer during an employee termination. The manager of the business alleged Huxtable took Vicodin pills belonging to another employee. Police reports indicate Huxtable admitted to the theft.

Victor Hartney - Hartney, 18, of Sequim, was charged Sept. 24 with malicious mischief in the second degree. On Sept. 21, Hartney and his sister drove to his sister's ex-boyfriend's apartment and slashed all four of the tires on the man's car, according to police reports. During an interview, Hartney allegedly admitted to the act, which was estimated to cause more than $250 in damage.

Justin Mason - Mason, 25, of Port Angeles, was sentenced Sept. 24 to four months in confinement and $2,814 in fines for the charges of assault in the third degree against a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and making false or misleading statements to a public servant. One month of confinement was converted into 240 hours of community service. Mason will be under community supervision for at least one year and is required to go through anger and chemical abuse evaluations.

Richard Russell - Russell, 42, of Sequim, entered into a diversion contract Sept. 25 with the Clallam County Superior Court for the charge of theft in the second degree. If Russell completes the program and meets its requirements, his charges from July will be dropped.

Mario Lopez - Lopez, 50, of Sequim, was sentenced twice on Sept. 24 for two different court cases. The first, which originated from a November 2005 arrest, involved four charges of the delivery of a controlled substance, amphetamine or methamphetamine, all class B felonies. Lopez pleaded guilty to the charges and received 20 months of confinement in community custody and $3,655 in fines for the four charges. An informant allegedly purchased methamphetamine on several occasions, which were recorded by police. A search of Lopez's house by police with a warrant allegedly discovered methamphetamine, marijuana, packaging, money, a scale and paraphernalia. Lopez allegedly admitted to selling methamphetamine and that he planned to sell the marijuana. The second, which involved a June 2007 charge, originated from the single charge of tampering with a witness, a class C felony. Lopez received 12 months of confinement, seven of which are in community custody, and $952 in fees for the charge. Lopez allegedly offered to pay a witness up to $5,000 not to testify in his upcoming narcotics trial. Text messages, one in-person conversation and one phone conversation were recorded to these effects.
