Prayer box ministry

The free Prayer Box Ministry has come to the Olympic Peninsula.

Letters have been sent to Christian churches on the peninsula to get more information into the hands of people who are willing to put out boxes, then gathering the requests and praying for them.

The ministry started in 2001 in Ohio when a small group of people began praying for unity among Christian churches, placing prayer boxes in local businesses where customers and employees could deposit their requests.

Each week, volunteers collected the requests and prayed over them.

The prayer box idea has moved to nearly every state in the United States and to 36 countries around the world.

A brief informational DVD is available for pastors to show their congregations and/or prayer groups. Call 452-9140 or www.freeprayerbox.com.
