PFOA gives spay/neuter surgeries

Sequim Mayor Laura Dubois, center, draws one of five names for a free spay or neuter for pets of low-income families on Feb. 24, at the Safe Haven shelter of Peninsula Friends of Animals, located between Sequim and Port Angeles.
Also present at the drawing were, from left, PFOA volunteers Pam Joneli, Carol Yada, Sharon Palmer and Ellen Morrison, who gathered the entries at area businesses during February for Spay/Neuter Month.
PFOA, a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue organization, assists with low-income spaying and neutering with monthly surgery clinics in partnership with Sequim Animal Hospital.
