Foundation names 2009 scholarship winners

The Clallam Community Foundation recently released 20 scholarships totaling $18,437 to benefit 2009 high school graduates from across the peninsula.
They are:
_ Port Angeles School District
Mac Ruddell Community Fund - Jessica Goss, Dani Craver, Brandon Roblan, John Camp
Karen Byrd Memorial Scholarship Fund - Madeline Nolan, Megan Lindley
Bright Haygood Copsey Fund - Chloe McCabe, Justin Gailey
Michael Sindars Memorial Scholarship Fund - Travis Parker
_ Quillayute Valley School District
Hull Family Fund - Marin Gaydeski, Denise Gibbs, Shelbie Jones, Brad Powell, Lauren Henry
_ Cape Flattery School District
Hull Family Fund - Megan Larrechea, Tabitha Herda, Seth Lind, Michael Murner, Shayla Nagel, Sandra Parker
In addition, the Bright Haygood Copsey Fund granted scholarships during the 2008-2009 academic year to Peninsula College students Kimberly Burns and Felice Thompson.
In addition to United Way's Fund, which includes the Clallam County Literacy Council, 10 nonprofit agencies have established funds to benefit their organizational missions.
