Dementia training scheduled

Mindi Blanchard conducts an eight-hour DSHS dementia specialty training from

9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5.

The cost is $48, prepaid no later than Monday, Nov. 2. The coursebook is included in the fee.

The class provides seven credit hours of instruction and a continuing education certificate.

The class is open to all who are interested.

One-way 101

Crews will continue removing brush from shoulders and slopes of U.S. Highway 101 from Shore Road to Gardiner through Thursday. The Washington State Department of Transportation says the work will last from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on the 20-mile stretch. Drivers should expect flagger-controlled, one-way alternating traffic.



New Medicare plans

Consumers may sign up for the plans from Nov. 15 through the end of the year. Coverage will start Jan. 1, 2010.
