Group raises funds for scholarships

Monday Musicale holds a fundraising benefit at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.
Performers are Lorraine Martin, piano; Gloria Serry Brennan, violin; Ruth Erskine, marimba, accompanied by Gary McRoberts on piano; Sinead Cowan Krist, harpist; Linda Bach, soprano; and Spencer and Traci Hoveskeland, double bass and cello.
Tickets cost $10 and may be purchased at the church.
Monday Musicale has met since 1968. Gatherings raise funds for scholarships to pursue advanced studies in music. This year, the group donated about $6,000.
It also sponsors concerts at which professional musicians share their talents as gifts for Monday Musicale Scholarship winners. Auditions are held each spring for instrumentalists and vocalists from Port Angeles and
Sequim high schools.
The group meets monthly at Queen of Angels Church,
109 W. 11th St., Port Angeles.
