One arrested for burglary, theft

One person was arrested on burglary and theft charges Nov. 12 after a homeowner off Blue Mountain Road returned home early that morning to find a suspicious car in his driveway.

Alvin L. Witherspoon, 35, Port Angeles, was arrested and booked into Clallam County Jail on Nov.

12 on charges of first-degree burglary and third-

degree theft.

Charges of residential burglary and second-degree robbery were added on Nov. 13.

Deputies responded to a burglary in progress about 2:40 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in the area of Red Deer Drive, off Blue Mountain Road.

The homeowner had returned to find a car in the driveway with a female in the passenger seat.

As the homeowner got out of the car, a man came from the behind the house claiming to have a gun.

As the couple drove off, the homeowner recognized stolen items in their car.

The homeowner described the people and car, including its license plate number.

The car was located at a trailer court at 256832 Highway 101. Witherspoon was arrested along with a woman who later was released.

Stolen items from the residence including jewelry were found during a search of the car and trailer.

The case was referred to the Clallam County prosecutor for review and formal charging.
