Snap, formerly Special Needs Advocacy Parents, hosts an open house and mini-rummage sale from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, at the Snap art room in the Sequim Community School, 220 W. Alder St. The group has a small selection of quality items it must move out of storage - Christmas decorations, bulbs, ornaments and garlands, some retro and some collectables.

New Sierra Club chapter meets
Two speakers will address the Monday, Dec. 7, meeting of the new Sierra Club - North Olympic Group.
Harley Oien of the Dry Creek Coalition presents information about the Port Angeles city dump leaching toxins and garbage into the strait, and North Olympic Conservation Committee member Norm Baker discusses efforts to create marine protected areas to aid in rock fish recovery.

SPD conducts toy drive
Sequim Police Department employees again this year are buying Christmas gifts for children who otherwise might go without.
"We contacted the Salvation Army and requested 10 names of Sequim-area children that need gifts for Christmas. We received those names, and employees of the Sequim Police Department can voluntarily buy gifts for them," said Sequim Police Officer Maris Turner.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church celebrates a Taizé service at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
