Former Olympic Medical Center CEO Mike Glenn has been appointed to the Peninsula College board of trustees by Gov. Chris Gregoire. His term expires Sept. 30, 2014.

"I think Mike Glenn is an excellent appointment. He brings us a wealth of experience and great perspective to our board," said Peninsula College President Tom Keegan.

"He's a good strategic thinker. He knows the North Olympic Peninsula community very well and brings a very thoughtful and mission-based approach to his service on the board," he said.

Glenn, 47, left OMC in December 2006 after 15 years - seven as CEO - to take an assistant administrator's job at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.

He now works as a senior vice president at Valley Medical Center in Renton, which is King County Public Hospital District No. 1.

Glenn, who still lives in Sequim, joined OMC as assistant administrator in 1991 and advanced to administrator in 1999.

The other Peninsula College trustees serve five-year terms with a two-term limit. The policy-setting board meets eight to 10 times a year.

The other four trustees are Dwayne G. Johnson of Port Angeles, a Port Angeles High School teacher; Erik Rohrer of Forks, Clallam County District Court II judge; John Miller of Port Angeles, Clallam County community development director; and Julie McCulloch of Port Townsend, owner of Elevated Ice Cream Company and former Port Townsend mayor.
