Mane Attraction is a 4-H group that organized this fall. Most of the members have horses or are interested in owning a horse, so that is one focus for the group.

Jeanne Johnson is a horse trainer who worked with several of the club members before organizing the new group. Mane Attraction is located in Sequim, however members also come from Port Angeles.

Members are Brianna Albright, Emma Albright, Emma Barrell, Gabby Fors, Rachel Hendry, Jolene Millsap, Joslyn Millsap, Christina Overby, Jadyn Overby, Justine Roads, Taylor Roads, Shannon Robins and Tidjra Tolliver. The leaders are Jeanne and Larry Johnson and assistant leader Krystal Biss.

Mane Attraction members want to live up to the 4-H pledge and make a difference in the community. The leaders want to help the youths discover themselves as individuals while learning life skills.

On Dec. 8, the group visited the pediatric ward at Olympic Memorial Hospital. They decorated the halls and put up a Christmas tree so people in the hospital could have some holiday cheer.

Mane Attraction meetings focus on planning for upcoming events such as fundraisers, horse shows, work days, field trips or community service. They are looking forward to participating in the Clallam County Fair in August. Anyone interested in joining the new group can contact Jeanne Johnson at 683-3809 or through e-mail at sylvesterwolfe@aol.com.
