PUD buys 5.3 acres in Carlsborg

Clallam County Public Utility District now owns 5.32 acres east of the district's Carlsborg Operations Center, located on the former Costco Wholesale property bought in 2008.
The property at 213 Windy Way is undeveloped residential land.
Clallam PUD General Manager Doug Nass said the $335,000 purchase is part of the district's long-term plan to centralize operations in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley.
The district's supplies and materials inventory and operations and staff are being moved from the Carlsborg Operations Center to the new central warehouse facility at U.S. Highway 101 and Hooker Road in Carlsborg.
Nass said it also opens up storage space to better protect vehicles and equipment.
