Don Marshall speaks about "Basic Elements of Successful Landscape Design" at
1 p.m Saturday, March 27, at McComb Gardens, 751 McComb Road, Sequim.
Marshall is an educator, landscape designer and nurseryman. He is the director of the environmental horticulture program at Lake Washington Technical College. His book, "Northwest Home Landscaping," will be available for purchase.

First Federal hosts a free seminar about long-term
health care noon-1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at the Sequim Village Marketplace Branch, 1201 W. Washington St.

The grand opening of the design showroom at The
Quarry includes events throughout the day on Saturday, March 20, inside The Showcase at 833 E. Front St., Port Angeles.
The day begins with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. A circle paver kit installation demonstration starts at 10:30 a.m. and a fire ring kit installation demonstration follows at 1 p.m.
The Quarry specializes in hardscape and masonry materials. A 15-percent discount off all in-stock natural stone and a drawing for door prizes will be offered during the event, which ends at 3 p.m.
Rookard speaks to Kiwanis
