Greek gods and goddesses make special appearances at Five Acre School's all-school play "Digging Up the Future: The Greek Myths in Our Modern World."
For the 12th year, the school presents an original play written by school co-founder Juanita Ramsey-Jevne.
This year, students share different stories in Greek mythology. They have been learning the stories for several months and the play is a reflection of their research. The play shows the timeless archetypes of the gods and goddesses in today's world.
The public program is at
7 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, in the Peninsula College Little Theatre, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
Explorer students, third-sixth grades, will perform original music and sing and dance to music from the Temptations, The Supremes and Michael Jackson. Songs include "My Girl," "Stop in the Name of Love" and "Holding Out For a Hero."
The play runs three nights, with Wednesday being the only public performance. On Thursday and Friday, younger students will present programs about the Olympics and the history of the cat.
Volunteers and students made more than 60 costumes.
The unconventional school play runs 90 minutes; students have practiced for more than six weeks.
Business sponsors get reserved seating, an advertisement in the program and wine and hors d'oeuvres before the performance.
For sponsorship, contact Mary Jane Blanton at 301-3966 or Lynette Brown at 460-5810.
