Students from Helen Haller Elementary released 500 salmon into the Dungeness River on March 18th at Hurd Creek Fish Hatchery off Woodcock Road.
Ben, Buttercup, Alvin, Squimmy and George Bush were a few of the fish’s names that students provided before sending the fish down stream.
Fourth grade teacher Sharle Osborne’s students helped grades Kindergarten-fourth release the fish.
The hatchery provides the eggs, which are raised in an aquarium at the school.
