Nash's Organic Produce farm store helps community members learn about soil, seeds, crop planting, cooking, preserving food and year-round local food accessibility through monthly themed exhibits.
January focused on terms that reflect this bioregion (the peninsula) and the local food movement.
February was dedicated to "Local Love: How To Cook a Fancy, Romantic Five-star Meal at Home."
March's theme is "Soil: It Feeds Your Food" and includes soil types, characteristics of healthy soil and information on chemical and organic fertilizers.
April is dedicated to seeds, seed-saving and concerns about genetically-modified foods.
Later themes include planting tech-niques, food preservation and simple, healthy brown-bag school lunches.
There are reading suggestions and recipes to take home. A small lending library featuring books and DVDs/videos about food issues is in the store.
Nash's Farm Store is at 1873 E. Anderson Road, just east of the Dungeness Bridge, north of the Old Dungeness Schoolhouse. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday.
