Operational training exercises on the SR 104 Hood Canal Bridge require nighttime draw span openings this week.
Drivers can expect nightly bridge openings of up to 20 minutes from 7:30-11:30 p.m. starting today, Tuesday, April 27 and ending Thursday, April 29. The short-duration openings allow bridge crews to review emergency protocols and reinforce their familiarity with the bridge’s draw-span systems.
Next month, WSDOT’s Bridge Preservation Office will conduct federally-required annual inspections on the SR 104 Hood Canal Bridge starting May 10. The inspections, which include a total review of all systems, are standard for all moveable bridges in Washington and require approximately three weeks of short-duration daytime and nighttime openings.
