Zumbathon set for June 13
A Zumba Fitness Party is set for 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St. Admission is by donation.
The event is a fundraiser for the local Boys & Girls Club to help a local student buy a wheelchair.
A Zumba basic fitness class is scheduled for 6:15-7:15 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at the club, to help participants get ready.

Boards seek new members
The city of Sequim seeks volunteers for the Citizens Park Advisory Board and the Board of Adjustment. There are two openings on each board.
The park advisory board terms expire June 30, 2013. Applicants must live within the Sequim School District boundaries but outside the city limits. The board meets at 6:30 p.m. on second Tuesdays and advises the city council on park issues.
The adjustment board terms expire Dec. 12, 2012. Applicants must live within the Sequim School District boundaries. The board meets at 7 p.m. on second Wednesdays, as needed, and determines if variances to zoning ordinance requirements should be granted.

Candidate forum question deadline looms
Concerned Citizens of Clallam County meets 7-9 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St. The candidates for the Washington state Legislature are on the agenda.
Questions for the candidates must be submitted by June 14 to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A committee will choose those questions they feel will give insight into the candidates' positions on issues facing the state.
Candidates vying for the Legislative seats in the 24th District are:
Position 1, Craig Durgan, Dan Gase and Kevin Van de Wege; and Position 2, Larry Carter, Jack Dwyer, Jim McEntire and Steve Tharinger.
Transit youth passes on sale
Clallam Transit System's Olympic Peninsula Summer Youth Pass is available to youths ages 6-19 for the summer months. The pass allows travel on regular fixed-route Clallam, Jefferson, Gray Harbor and Mason transit buses through Labor Day. Passes are $10 from now to June 30. July 1 the price goes to $20.

Free peer counseling available
Peninsula Community Mental Health Center offers free, confidential, senior peer counseling for adults age 55 and older.
Counselors near the participants' ages meet them at a place of the participant's choosing to help develop insight and coping skills related to challenges they face.
