Self-branded the funniest pirate never to sail the seven seas,
Seattle actor Cap’n Arrr, played by Won Israel, brought the funny to Sequim
Library on June 30.
Children heard songs from Cap’n Arrr’s ship help Isabelle, played
by Erica Clark, got to pop cannon balls filled with water, learned a samurai
training exercise, and more.
Israel encouraged respect of adults and that even though children
are small, they all are special treasures.
Several children dressed as pirates, and Israel continually
promoted safety when children got too excited with their plastic swords.
His humor remained light, with physical comedy and tongue-in-cheek
one-liners such as naming his pirate ship “Friend.”
His was the second performance for the Summer Reading Program that
runs through the summer with support from the Sequim Friends of the Library.
The next two events are Valentine’s Pigs, today, Wednesday, July
7, and Mad Science on Wednesday, July 14.
Each starts at 10:30 a.m. behind the library at 630 N. Sequim Ave.
If there is inclement weather, programs are held at Sequim Middle School, 301
W. Hendrickson Road.
