Rainstorms shouldn’t hinder drivers on Still Road after a piece of pipe is replaced in the coming weeks to prevent an annoying pond from forming. Mike Brandt, Sequim city shop supervisor, said the water build-up has been a chronic problem for at least 16 years because he and others have been unable to identify the source until now. Staff used the a sewer camera to discover a plastic gasoline can blocking flow in the corrugated pipe. Brandt said the camera was useful because staff were able to view inside the pipe without the camera getting stuck. He said there are a few similar drainage issues throughout the city but none that can be quickly addressed like the Still Road pond. Sequim Gazette photo by Matthew Nash
