Marine Life Center offers program
Feiro Marine Life Center offers a six-week program about marine life in the waters of the Pacific Northwest beginning 6-8 p.m today, April 6.
Classes meet at the marine life center, 315 N. Lincoln St., Port Angeles, and meet the requirements for participants to volunteer at the center.

Discovery Center welcomes volunteers
NOAA Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary’s Olympic Coast Discovery Center hosts an event to welcome new volunteers at
2 p.m. Thursday, April 7, on the second floor of The Landing Mall, 115 E. Railroad Ave., Port Angeles.
Training will be held 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursdays, April 26-May 19, at the same site and includes field trips to Makah Cultural and Research Center and Salt Creek tidepools.

Wildlife refuge seeks volunteers
The Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge holds its annual new volunteer training from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the
Sequim Prairie Grange Hall, 290 Macleay Road, Sequim. Lunch is provided 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Home orchards talk rescheduled
The Master Gardener presentation “Successfully Starting and Growing Pears and Stone Fruit” with Balraj Sokkappa is rescheduled to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at the demonstration garden, 2711 Woodcock Road, Sequim. Bad weather forced postponement of the event from April 2.
Democratic meeting moved
The April 9 appearance of Washington state Democratic Party chairman Dwight Pelz in Sequim has been moved to a larger venue. Pelz speaks at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Olympic Theatre Arts Center, 414 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim. The quarterly meeting of Clallam County Democrats is open to the public.
Shane Park fundraiser set
Hoard and Lily Lacy are hosting a breakfast fundraiser for Shane Park from 8:30-noon on Sunday, April 10, at the Port Angeles Masonic Temple, 622 S. Lincoln St. All proceeds go to a new playground to be built at the park. Cost is $5 for adults, $4 for children.

Free weatherization seminar for seniors
Clallam County PUD and Hartnagel Building Supply present a free seminar on replacement windows for seniors at 1 p.m. and again at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 11, at the Sequim Senior Activity Center, 921 E. Hammond St., Sequim.
Attendees will learn how local weatherization rebates can make weatherization more affordable and how energy efficient windows, low-E glass and replacement windows can save on heating and cooling costs. Call Donna Hoyt at 417-8381 for more information.

Teen Court offers cake
Teen Court partners with Jet Set Soroptimist for the annual Easter Bake-A-Thon
6 a.m.-noon Wednesday, April 13.
KONP listeners can make donations for the Teen Court’s banana bread, carrot cake or fritters at the radio station. Clallam County citizens can pick up their order at the station or it can be delivered before Easter Sunday, April 24.
Youths from the program will man the radio with the morning announcer while parents are on the telephone, taking orders.
Proceeds are used for training and educational experiences.
FourC rally set for April 15
Concerned Citizens of Clallam County, aka FourC, will be taking to the streets for a Tax Day Rally from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, April 15, at the corner of Washington Street and Sequim Avenue in Sequim. The community is welcome.
The group will share concerns about how state and national governments are spending tax dollars.
Strait Therapy hosts annual food drive
Strait Occupational & Hand Therapy clinic’s annual Helping Hands Food Drive is under way. Staff members are striving to meet or beat last year’s goal of 2,500 nonperishable food items and/or $2,500. The event is held in conjunction with National Occupational Therapy Month.
Strait Occupational & Hand Therapy, 708 S. Race St., Ste. C, Port Angeles, will accept food donations during business hours through April. The clinic is open from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday.

Museum seeks volunteers
The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley is seeking volunteers at the exhibit center, 175 W. Cedar St., Sequim.
Volunteer docents welcome visitors, provide information about art and history exhibits and upcoming events and programs, and operate the center’s museum store.
Docent training, including cash register operation, is provided.
The center is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, and on Sundays during the summer months.
