Sequim man charged in undercover drug deal

A 47-year-old Sequim man pleaded not guilty in Clallam County Superior Court on June 6 to two charges of delivery of a controlled substance.
Thomas Anthony Reina was charged June 2 following two controlled drug deals by the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team utilizing a confidential informant.
According to a probable cause statement by OPNET officers, Reina sold a total of seven pills through a middleman to a confidential informant on two occasions. The pills, prescription painkiller OxyContin/Oxycodone, were sold for $150 or more a piece, court documents say.
One of the drug deals took place within 1,000 feet of a school bus stop, which is an enhancement on the second delivery of a controlled substance charge, according to charges filed by Clallam County Deputy Prosecutor Jesse Espinoza. Both charges are Class B felonies.
Reina was released without bail pending an Aug. 18 trial date.
