It’s official: Sequim City councilor incumbent Laura Dubois will face challenger John Miller in the November general election.
Challenger Ron Fairclough was officially eliminated from contention as Clallam County finalized its 2011 primary election numbers on Aug. 31.
Dubois, seeking her second term on the city council, carried 845 of the 1,598 votes or about 52.9 percent of votes cast, while Miller came in second with 516 votes or about 32.3 percent. Fairclough finished third with 237 votes (14.8 percent).
County commissioner hopeful Jim McEntire racked up 4,751 votes (56.2 percent) to Linda Barnfather’s 3,707 votes, as both seek to fill the seat to be left vacant by commissioner and state representative Steve Tharinger.
Primary election turnout was 8,529 of 19,092 eligible voters or 44.7 percent.

General ballots are mailed out on Oct. 19; military and overseas ballots are mailed on Sept. 23.
The 29-day cutoff for registering to vote is Oct. 10; the eight-day cutoff for in-person voting registrations (at the elections office only) is Oct. 31.
The general election is certified on Nov. 29.
