In celebration of the third annual Open House Weekend, Realtors throughout Clallam County, Washington and the entire country will be opening the doors to thousands of listed homes for sale. This is the largest open house weekend event in the nation.

 

To offer buyers the convenience of touring dozens of homes for sale in one weekend, the Sequim Association of Realtors and their clients will hold more than 120 open houses on April 28-29.

 

The National Association of Realtors’ 2011 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, shows that 45 percent of all buyers used open houses as a source in their home search process. There is nothing better than visiting a home, seeing what it looks like in person, viewing the neighborhood and walking through the yard.

 

While the housing market continues to recover, there is a budding sense of optimism among potential homebuyers. Research shows that more renters than ever aspire to become homeowners and an overwhelming majority of Americans believe buying a home is a solid financial decision. Purchasing a home is one of the most important and personal decisions individuals will ever make because it is an investment in their future.

 

With historically low home prices and interest rates and a plentiful inventory, housing is more affordable than it has been in years, enabling buyers to capitalize on the opportunity to purchase a first home, vacation home or rental property. Conditions are ideal for buyers to find their dream home in a variety of price ranges. Open House Weekend serves as one-stop shopping for anyone in the market.

 

Realtors will be at every open house this weekend to provide guidance about the home buying process and to answer questions about local market conditions. Realtors know neighborhoods and the value of homes, saving their clients money and time. More than 79 percent of all buyers use a Realtor in order to successfully navigate the home buying process.

First Federal mortgage loan officers Kathi Larsen and Julie Myers have purchased a gift basket to give away during the Nationwide Open House Event.
