Clallam County

Fire District 3 sources

The Olympic Peninsula Chapter of the International Footprint Association recently installed a new memorial plaque located in the front of Clallam County Fire District 3 headquarters.

The memorial contains the names of four public safety officers who died in the line of duty. Three law
enforcement officials and one firefighter are included on the plaque: Sheriff William A. Nelson (March 30, 1934); Fire District 3 firefighter Dale Kruse (Aug. 30, 1978); Clallam County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Wallace E. Davis (Aug. 5, 2000); and U.S. Forest Service officer Kristine Fairbanks (Sept. 20, 2008).

The Footprint Chapter donated the manpower and funding for the design and placement of the plaque. Members of the Olympic Peninsula Footprint Chapter, the Sequim Police Department and Clallam County Fire District 3 were present during the installation of the new memorial.

The memorial plaque is available for public viewing and is located at 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
