Guilty verdict

Following a one-day bench trial, Judge S. Brooke Taylor found Robin D. Sather, 30, guilty of two counts of second-degree custodial interference.

 

Sather was arrested in April after removing her children from the Sequim home of their grandparents, who had court-ordered custody of the children.

 

Sather also has possession of a controlled substance, methadone, and resisting arrest charges pending in Clallam County Superior Court.

 

Taylor postponed Sather’s sentencing on the custodial interference conviction until the other case is resolved.

 

Trial reset

The trial of Theresa Hedgecock, 27, of Sequim, on first-degree theft and trafficking in stolen property charges is reset for Oct. 15. Hedgecock was arrested in March on suspicion of stealing more than $8,000 worth of jewelry, silverware and cash from an elderly woman for whom she was a caregiver. Police said Hedgecock pawned the items.

 

She pleaded not guilty March 30 and remains out of custody on her own recognizance.

 

Not guilty plea

Ashley Erhardt, 19, of Port Angeles, pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing a stolen firearm, residential burglary and trafficking in stolen property Aug. 17. Erhardt is accused of unlawfully entering a home in the 200 block of Gerhke Road on April 29 and stealing nine guns, some items of jewelry, electronics and clothing. Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies said Erhardt sold some of the clothing items at a consignment store.

 

During the course of the investigation, deputies found six of the stolen firearms stashed in an old chimney at a Port Angeles residence, according to reports.

 

Jennifer Leroy, 33, is also charged in the Agnew burglary. Erhardt was released on $5,000 bond but was returned to custody on a different matter in lieu of $17,500 bond. Her trial is set for Nov. 5.
Leroy remains in custody in lieu of $75,000 bond and her trial is set for Sept. 10.
