A strong volunteer force turned out to paint, clean and help in any way possible for The National Day of Service on Sept. 8. The City of Sequim and United Way of Clallam County partnered for a third year and saw more than 40 people volunteer in the city at various sites. Volunteers painted the picnic area in Carrie Blake Park, utility buildings on Port Williams Road, and various fire hydrants around the city; installed bridge braces between the park and the Water Reuse Demonstration Site; and cleaned landscaping around the parks and Sequim Skate Park.
