The public is invited to join Broom Busters Gretha and Doug Davis in pulling invasive Scotch broom on the Olympic Discovery Trail from 9 a.m.-noon each Wednesday in May, beginning in Blyn and ending in Sequim.
The noxious weed replaces native plants and reduces food/habitat for wildlife.
The project also is a Dungeness Spring Fling fundraiser: Funds raised support educational programs at the Dungeness River Audubon Center and Railroad Bridge Park.
Volunteers who can join in the work can gather pledges for their broom-pulling. Those who cannot pull are invited to sponsor those who can. Snacks and beverages are provided by Peninsula Trails Coalition.
