Commissioners serve 6-year-terms and supervise the Port of Port Angeles holdings, including the Boat Haven, at the Port Angeles Harbor, William R. Fairchild International Airport in Port Angeles and John Wayne Marina on Sequim Bay. Brad Collins and John Calhoun are contesting for District 3, open to residents of the county’s West End.
Fire District 3 seeks renewal, hike of Emergency Medical Services levy
Clallam County Fire District No. 3 will ask voters to renew the existing Emergency Medical Service levy, which includes paramedics.
In July, the Sequim City Council placed a Transportation Benefit District initiative on the ballot.
Two seek OMC seat while 4 sit out race
Four of the five seats up for election on the seven-member board that oversees Hospital District 2 — Olympic Medical Center — are uncontested, held by incumbents Arlene Engel, Jim Cammack and Jim Leskinovitch.
Four seek 2 posts in Recreation District 1
Both positions for the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center board of commissioners are contested. Incumbent Susan Sorensen and challenger Jan Richardson are running for position No. 1 while Noelle Levesque challenges incumbent Robert Macaulay for position No. 2.
Only 1 school board seat is contested
In district 2, which includes Dungeness and the area north of Sequim, incumbent Virginia O’Neil faces challenger Jon Kirshbaum.
Four contend for Sequim council
Three Sequim City Council seats, all four-year terms, are on this year’s ballot, the first election since four new councilors were elected in 2007.
