John Ferguson
No service was reported for Sequim resident John Ferguson, who died July 31, 2009, at the age of 85.
He was born March 6, 1924, in Glasgow, Scotland, to Robert Michell and Elizabeth Cornish Ferguson.
He served in the Royal Navy during World War II.
After the war, he immigrated to Canada and then to the United States.
His education was furthered at the University of Southern California.
He lived and worked in California until he moved to Sequim upon retirement.
In his spare time, he was a screenwriter for movies and several television programs.
He was the author of three novels.
His wife, Norma, preceded him in death.
Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Laverna 'Cee' Cecilia Veit
A service will be announced at a later date for Sequim resident Laverna "Cee" Cecilia Veit, who died at the age of 91 in Lodi, Calif.
She was born in July 1918 in Lerh, N.D., to Fred and Rose Essig.
She attended Sequim Community Church, and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, quilting and lending a hand to anyone in need.
A homemaker for many years, Mrs. Veit was married for 48 years to Earl Frederick Veit Sr.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Earl "Corky" and Susie Veit; and daughter and son-in-law Donna and Kenny Erenbusch, all of Lodi, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
