Timothy C. Burnham
A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Sequim Community Church, 950 N. Fifth Ave., for former Sequim resident Timothy C. Burnham, who died July 26, 2012, at the age of 69.
He was born Nov. 10, 1942, in San Francisco, Calif., to John C. and Louise Scheffauer Burnham.
He grew up in Mill Valley, Calif., and worked as a child psychologist for the schools in Carson City, Nev.
He lived in Sequim from 2001-2003. He and his wife, Beverly, married in Sequim on Dec. 17, 2005. They returned to live in Sequim before moving to Silverdale.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Burnham, of Silverdale; his son Trevor Burnham, of Aberdeen; his stepdaughter Kimberly Bullman, of Silverdale; his stepsons Daniel Lokken, of Key Peninsula; and Dennis Lokken, of Massillon, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren.

 

Jennifer Jean Bennett
Jennifer Jean Bennett slipped away quietly from this life to be with Jesus early Friday morning, August 3, 2012, at the age of 34 due to complications of breast cancer.
Jen was born on May 16, 1978, in Westlake Village, California, to Lauri (Johnson) Foy and Robert Foy. She moved to Sequim, Washington, in 1990 and graduated from
Sequim High School in 1996.
Jennifer married Jacob Bennett at the Sequim Cutting Gardens on July 29, 2000. She loved her husband, Jacob, her children, Quintan Johnson, Levi Foy and Audrianna Bennett and appreciated the time she had with her family, at the same time that she had prayed for more time. She told her children “to keep on going on.”
Jen worked as a waitress and bookkeeper for many years at the 3 Crabs Restaurant in Sequim. She loved to sing, dance, read, travel, shop, cook, and play Bingo, Yahtzee and Catan. She was known to go out of her way to help other people. She was stylish, fun and funny. She had a talent for bringing diverse people together and making them feel like family.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Robert Foy, and is survived by her husband, Jacob Bennett; her children, Quintan Johnson, Levi Foy and Audrianna Bennett; her mother, Lauri DeBaun, of Sequim; her stepfather, Russell DeBaun; her grandmother Marilynn Johnson of Reseda, California; her brothers James Foy and wife Emily, and Robert Foy and wife Maria; her sister Anna Flores and husband Tino; and many other relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3345 Woodcock Road in Sequim, on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. All who knew and admired her are invited to the Bennett residence. Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel assisted in arrangements.

William E. Dobbins
William E. Dobbins, Senior Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy Retired, beloved father. William was the only child of William E. Dobbins, Commander, U.S. Navy Retired, of Massachusetts and Lyda Blanche Smith, U.S. Army Nurse Corps, of Pennsylvania.
He was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Massachusetts, Florida and Pennsylvania.
William, affectionately known as “Wild Bill” to friends, was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served aboard four aircraft carriers and five other ships deploying with units to the Atlantic, Pacific, Mediterranean and Caribbean in defense of his country.
He was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia; San Diego, California; Barbers Point, Hawaii; and China Lake, California. He retired in 1964 after 24 years of unblemished active service.
He had a successful career as a Life Insurance Agent for MONY from 1963-1990. He also worked for H&R Block for seven years. He volunteered for the Navy Relief Society, was a volunteer campground host and worked in security and as a park ranger.
Bill’s passion was airplanes and their engines.
He graduated from Frostproof High School in Frostproof, Florida. He married Lillian Yvonne Brown of Wauchula, Florida, in 1942.
Lillian, known as “Billie,” and Bill had two children, Mary Lyda and Daniel Newton.
In 1947, Bill married Vada Lee Harrah of West Virginia. They lived in Virginia, Hawaii and California. Bill and Vada had one daughter, Kathy Lea. Vada preceded Bill in death in 1975.
In 1975, Bill married Suzanne Lee Parker, aka Cleabelle, (Cleo) Rae Pearce (Wilson, McGrosso) of Oregon. They lived in California and Washington state.
Bill was a generous soul with a philosophical and artistic spirit, a wordsmith and a mathematical intellect. He loved his country and the out of doors. He enjoyed camping and exploring. He adventured to beaches, mountains and deserts in the U.S. and abroad, always collecting a rock or stick along the way.
He was a gifted orator, a past president of Club 2516 Toastmasters International, a pretty entertaining storyteller, square-dancer and an aficionado of country-western music. One of his most cherished memories was receiving a big hug from Mary Lyda’s employer, Dolly Parton.
To the end he was a fighter, quick to laugh and quick to defend.
In 1990, Bill and Cleo moved from Chula Vista, California, to Port Angeles, where they resided until Bill moved to Sequim in February of this year. Bill was a gifted driftwood artist and avid member of the Olympic Driftwood Society, in which he was active to the end.
Bill leaves behind his three children, Mary Lyda Wellons of Sevierville, Tennessee, Daniel Newton of Tampa, Florida, and Kathy Lea of Chula Vista, California; grandchildren Robin Macias, Terry May, Timothy Moody and Britt Wellons; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and his beloved canine companion, Wiley.
Please join his daughters in a celebration of his life at the First United Methodist Church at 110 East Seventh Street, Port Angeles, at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2012.

Paul Eugene Fulmer 
September 11, 1922 - July 31, 2012

Paul E. Fulmer passed away in Sequim, Washington on July 31, 2012.  He fought colon and liver cancer for two years, symptom free. He was 89 years old. 
Paul was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on September 11, 1922 to John Guthrie and Eva Mae Fulmer. 
Paul was a unique man, he enlisted into the navy but was drafted by the Army and served in WWII.  He was a crewman of a Army Air force B-24, was a infantryman in the battle of the Philippines and the liberation of Okinawa. He was also a special agent to General Douglas McArthur’s Intelligence group, post war in the Tokyo office.
Once he settled down and married Fran Fulmer, deceased April 23, 2009, he resided in Pomona, California. Paul was an Aurthur Murray Dance instructor, hunted with a bow and arrow, a wildlife photographer, and loved to hike and horseback ride. Paul was a superintendent for the Pomona Water Dept, and retired after 32+ years.
After retiring he continued to enjoy hiking with the camera, playing his guitar and always “worked out”. He lifted weights faithfully from the age of 31.
Paul followed his granddaughter, Shawnna Rigg to Sequim in 2003, where he quickly became “Grandpa” to many in the Sequim Community. Paul is survived by daughters Judi (Don) Barber, Kathy (Jay) Williams, and Paula Dahlgren. Paul had one sister, Evelyn, (deceased) and two brothers, LaRue and Dale Corter. He has six grandchildren: Shawnna (Barber) Rigg, Darnell Barber, Traci (Rush) Rose, Bill Rush, Paul and Eric Dahlgren and two great grandchildren, Zachary and Kyla Rigg.
Visitation will be held at Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 20 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Memorial Services will be Tuesday, August 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Sequim Community Church. Graveside service will follow.
