Dawn Lynn Harris
Dawn Lynn Harris, 51, passed away on October 30, 2012 in Pueblo, CO. She is survived by daughter Amelie Johnson and granddaughters Natalie and Ella Johnson of Stockton CA, and daughter Lauryn Last of Port Angeles, WA. Preceded in death are father, Donald Loy Gamble, mother, Virginia Gamble, and grandson Thomas Loy Last.
Dawn met and married Flynn Harris in Aspen, CO, then moved to WA where she worked for over 15 years at Nash’s Farm in Dungeness where she was passionate about the animals and agriculture she loved before returning to Pueblo to take care of her mother. Family and friends will be notified in the future for a ‘Celebration of Dawn’s Life.’ A memorial trust has been set up in her name at any Wells Fargo Bank.
Mary Hoffmann
Mary Hoffmann, age 73, of Port Townsend, Washington, died on November 3rd, 2012, as a result of a devastating stroke. She was surrounded by her family at Seattle’s Harborview Hospital at the time of her passing.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Sunday December 9th at 2 p.m. at the Quimper Grange in Port Townsend (1219 Corona Street). All who knew Mary and her family are welcome.
Born May 24th, 1939, as Ida Mary Fortey in Gladstone, Australia, Mary was the seventh of eight children. Upon finishing school Mary moved to Heron Island, off the coast of Queensland, where she worked for thirteen years and met her husband, William “Bill” Hoffmann. They married in December 1969 and then moved to Ketchikan, Alaska, and had their only child, Lisa Maree Hoffmann in 1971. Eight years later Mary and her family moved to Port Townsend where they still reside. She owned the video store Movies Plus for 15 years. During this time she was able to get to know her community and make many connections. After the sale of Movies Plus she worked as a private caregiver in the community. Mary welcomed her first grandchild in 2011.
Mary is remembered as generous, kind, open hearted and gracious person with a love for connecting and hearing stories—while remaining quite private about her own. Even after her passing, her family learns more about the lives Mary touched. Please come December 9th to the informal service and share your story of Mary with her beloved community and family.
Survived by her husband Bill; sister Dorrie Horn; daughter Lisa Hoffmann and husband Jay Simerka; grandchildren Sydney and Chase Simerka; and many nieces and nephews in Australia and the States.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Kathleen Fortey; sister Angela Gadsby; brothers Joe, Vincent, Graham, Lenny and Geoffrey Fortey.

Dr. Richard Meloni
Dr. Richard Meloni went to our Lord on November 19, 2012. He was born to Charles and Mary (Repetti) on August 19, 1930 in Cambridge, MA. He graduated from Boston Latin School in 1948 and received his University and Dental Degrees from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He served as a lieutenant in the Dental Corps at Treasure Island and Alameda Naval Air Station in California.
He married Joanne Quinlan on May 10, 1958 and they moved to Lynnfield, MA where they resided for seven years and were blessed with a Son and Daughter. The family moved to Glendora, CA in 1966 where he established a dental practice. Dr. Meloni was a member of the American, California, San Gabriel Associations and the American Italian Dental Association. He donated his time to the dental care of the children at Maryvale Orphanage in San Gabriel, CA and was a Eucharistic Minister and member of St. Dorothy’s Church. He lived in Southern CA until his retirement in 1993 when he and his wife moved to Sequim, WA.
Dr. Meloni was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he served as Usher and was active in the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Puget Sound Angles and wrote a fishing column for the Sequim Gazette for several years. He is survived by his wife, Joanne, son Michael of Bountiful UT, daughter Margaret (Edward Maurer) of Long Beach, CA, grandchildren Ryan, Teresa, Taralyn of Bountiful UT, brother William Meloni of Carver, MA. He was predeceased by his brother Dr. C. Robert Meloni of Hershey, PA.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Jean-Pierre Kasonga on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Society or Columbus Charities (Knights of Columbus) PO Box 1209, Sequim, WA 98382.
Dorothy Virginia Keith
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Poulsbo Cemetery, for Sequim resident Dorothy Virginia Keith, who died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at the age of 85.
The granddaughter of Norwegian immigrants to Tacoma, she was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Poulsbo, to Edward and Sophie Espelund.
She married Joseph Marvin Keith in 1945. The couple lived in Poulsbo and Oakridge, Ore., and had four children. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She is survived by her daughter Deloris Keith and daughter and son-in-law Doris and Bob Hoit, all of Oakridge, Ore.; son Frank Keith and son and daughter-in-law Bill and Rena Keith, all of Sequim; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
