April 22, 2009James H. ClaytonA service for Port Angeles resident James Jim H. Clayton will be held at 10 a.m. today, April 22, at Ocean View Cemetery, 3127 W. 18th St., Port Angeles. Elder Pat Bennett is the officiant. A celebration of life follows at the Lower Elwha Tribal Center dining hall, 2851 Lower Elwha Road, Port Angeles. Mr. Clayton died April 15, 2009, at the age of 88. He was born April 5, 1921, in Merritt, British Columbia, Canada, to Harry J. and Lucille Leith Clayton. He married Betty M. Clayton in 1946 in Canada. She preceded him in death in 1988. He married Rosemarie Openheim Clayton, who also preceded him in death. Mr. Clayton served in the Canadian Armed Forces Scottish High Regime and was a decorated World War II veteran. In 1979 he retired as a timber faller from ITT Rayonier. He was a Golden Gloves boxer, a bull rider and a member of the Elks Lodge. Mr. Clayton is survived by his daughter Kathy Lealaimatafao; daughter and son-in-law Tami and Jeff Williamson; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Drennan & Ford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Vera M. Forshaw A service for Sequim resident Vera M. Forshaw will be announced at a later date. Mrs. Forshaw died April 14, 2009, in Tucson, Ariz., at the age of 81. She was born March 26, 1928, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Robert and Charlotte Lincolnbach Brownell. She married Robert Forshaw on Oct. 3, 1947, in Wayne, Mich. She was co-owner of Formost Construction for 28 years. She loved golfing, working in her yard, decorating homes and spending time with family, friends, and her dog Tobey. Her winter home was in Green Valley, Ariz. She is survived by her husband, Bob Forshaw of Sequim and Green Valley, Ariz.; daughters Cathy Kvistad of Malott and Lesli Forshaw of Sacramento, Calif.; sons Mike Forshaw, Dan Forshaw, Bobby Forshaw and Matt Forshaw, all of Sequim; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a nephew, a niece; and her favorite dog, Tobey. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister. Memorial gifts may be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula, P.O. Box 4167, Sequim, WA 98382. Robert E. Loshenkohl A service was held for former Sequim resident Robert E. Loshenkohl, who died April 18, 2009, at the age of 74. Burial was at Sequim View Cemetery. He was born April 2, 1935, in Geneva, Neb., to Rudolph and Helen Carol Rolls Loshenkohl. He married Carolyn Norman on Feb. 24, 1979. Mr. Loshenkohl lived in Nebraska, Seattle, Forks, Walla Walla, Sequim, Port Angeles and Marysville. He was a logger for the Department of Transportation and superintendent of highway maintenance. He is survived by his son Robert Earl Loshenkohl of Rock Springs, Wyo.; daughters Bonnie Elaine Richardson of Sequim; Alethea Anne Loshenkohl of Port Angeles; and Mary Marie Weaver of Marysville; and 11 grandchildren. Sequim Valley Chapel was in charge of arrangements. William Joseph Hayes At his request, no service is planned for Port Angeles resident William Joseph Hayes, who died April 14, 2009, at the age of 66. He was born May 8, 1942. She lived with her nephew and his wife in Port Angeles before she died April 15, 2009, of age-related causes. She was born July 10, 1920, in Weiser, Idaho, to Robert P. and Christina Syme McAuley.
