Froese makes dean's list

Ruth Froese of Sequim was named to the DePaul University dean's list for 2009-2010 fall quarter.

To qualify for the dean's list at DePaul, full-time students must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or better.

DePaul is a Catholic university in Chicago, Ill.



Blenk earns academic honor at Oregon State

Robert Blenk of Sequim recently was named to the scholastic honor roll for fall term at Oregon State University.

To be on the honor roll, students must maintain at least 12 graded hours of course work and a 3.50 or better grade-point average.

Blenk is a freshman studying zoology.



Volunteers needed at Helen Haller Elementary

School officials at Helen Haller Elementary School, 350 W. Fir St., are seeking reading volunteers to help Haller students.

The next tutor training session is at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, in portable room 3W.
